A Message from our
Pastoral Leader
I am Deacon Mark Genovesi, the Pastoral Leader of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Our Lady of Lourdes is a vibrant, growing parish, made up of people from all walks of life and many ethnic backgrounds. And every one of us not only strives to live our lives daily as true disciples of Christ, but also, we worship like one big family.
We have a beautiful new church building, it’s true. But the building means nothing without the spirit found within during Masses, and the ministries performed by our parish family every single day.
Ministries within the parish walls include lector, Eucharistic Minister, usher, choir, OCIA, and many others. And ministries outside the parish walls include visiting the sick and homebound, our Hospitality Kitchen, which has been giving out food to the hungry for over 40 years and helping those who are struggling with rent or utility bills though our Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
Our Lady of Lourdes parish has been on Hill Avenue since 1927. And although the church building is new, the spirit of those who built the first church building and our spectacular grotto and shrine to our Blessed Mother lives on today. Come join us for Mass! You will find a warm welcome, and a community of prayerful, committed Catholics who will share their deep love of the Lord with you and treat you not as strangers but as brothers and sisters in Christ. Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Community will be the Spirit-filled reality of the dream of our founders when they established in faith, our Mission church. We will be the living, loving presence of Jesus as we use the gifts of the Holy Spirit to reach out to those in need, evangelize, and to embrace those we meet. Through the intercession of Mary and the help of the Holy Spirit, we will respond in faith to God’s call.
